The Heart of England Forest is an exciting and ambitious charity working to plant and preserve a huge broadleaf forest for the benefit of the public and wildlife – a place of enduring natural beauty, protected and secured for generations to come.
In an increasingly urbanised country, Britain’s beautiful woodlands are under threat. In fact, Britain has one of the lowest percentages of native tree cover in Europe. This has taken a terrible toll on the environment, people and wildlife. Gradually, The Heart of England Forest – an exciting and ambitious charity - is undoing the destruction of our broadleaf woodland.
They are planting and nurturing a new, native tree forest in the heart of England, to create a space for wildlife to thrive and for people to reconnect with and learn about the great outdoors, for generations to come. Under light-filled, leafy canopies, people will look up and discover the joy of nature.
